Open enrollment for 2025 health insurance is open through December 16th
The open enrollment deadline for Idahoans purchasing or changing their individual health coverage for 2025 is December 16, 2024. With rates for health insurance decreasing on average for 2025, the Idaho Department of Insurance is reminding consumers to make sure they are taking full advantage of all the cost savings available to them, making coverage even more affordable.

SHIBA representatives are offering a Medicare Review Workshop on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the Orofino Senior Center (930 Michigan Avenue), from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
Idaho’s workers’ compensation rates to decrease for eighth consecutive year in 2025
The Idaho Department of Insurance (DOI) has reviewed and accepted the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) rate filing for an overall average 6.7% reduction in Workers’ Compensation rates. The decrease – which takes effect January 1, 2025 – marks the eighth consecutive year of rate decreases for Idaho employers and continues the overall downward trend of rates.
Open enrollment is a good time to review Medicare plans; SHIBA to offer Medicare review workshop in Pinehurst
SHIBA representatives are available to talk with Medicare beneficiaries and provide free Medicare information, including reviewing Medicare coverage options. They are offering a Medicare Review Workshop on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at the 107 Main Street, Pinehurst, ID, from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm.
Medicare Open Enrollment begins October 15
The Idaho Department of Insurance and Senior Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA) encourage consumers eligible for Medicare to review their plan options and costs during this year’s open enrollment. From October 15 through December 7, Idahoans can make changes to existing Prescription Drug or Medicare Advantage plans or enroll in new plans.
Health insurance rates for 2025 now available to the public
Final 2025 premium rates for individual and small group health insurance plans have been released by the Idaho Department of Insurance.

DOI publishes preliminary health insurance rates for 2025
The Idaho Department of Insurance (DOI) has received preliminary premium rates from health insurance carriers for plans sold starting January 2025. The DOI is seeking public comments before final rates are published.
