Idaho requires testing and fingerprinting for all residents wishing to hold a license. Idaho has partnered with PSI to provide this service.
Testing
It is recommended that anybody interested in testing download the free pre-licensing Candidate Handbook . This document gives important information in preparation for the exam.
To find the statutes and rules that are referenced in the above documents, go to Laws/Rules/Bulletins*. NOTE: This is not a complete study guide, only an outline of topics in each exam.
Idaho does not require pre-licensing education.

FAQs
I got my fingerprints done for another purpose; can I use that report?
No, due to inter departmental restrictions other forms of fingerprinting can not be used in lieu of the DOI fingerprinting process.
I live a long way from a testing/fingerprinting center, can I do the process remotely?
Yes. If you live more than 100 miles from a testing/fingerprinting location and you are not required to test for your license, you may request a fingerprint packet via email. Please note this may increase the length of time to process your prints, therefore delaying the issuance of your license. Testing can also be done remotely.
I’m a veteran, will the GI bill cover testing/fingerprinting?
Yes. ALL Idaho insurance licensing exams for the producers/bail/adjuster licenses are currently qualified through the Idaho Veteran’s Administration for U.S. Veterans to receive reimbursement through the GI Bill® Instructions and information.
