The insurance company must send written notice to the policyholder that provides the effective date and the reasons for the cancellation or non-renewal of a homeowners policy.
The amount of time the company must provide notice prior to the cancellation effective date depends on the reason for the cancellation.
In Idaho, there are few limitations on cancelling or non-renewing property insurance. Check your policy for any provisions that may provide additional requirements or obligations of either the insurance company and/or the policyholder regarding cancellation or non-renewal of the policy.
