Thursday April 29, 2021

BOISE, ID (April 29, 2021) – The Idaho State Fire Marshal’s Office is offering an award for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a fire that occurred in Hailey, Idaho on March 16, 2021. The fire, which was determined to be caused by arson, occurred at the Croy Street Exchange building located at 211 Croy Street. The building was in the process of being renovated when the arson occurred.

Fire Marshal Knute Sandahl traveled to Hailey on April 29 to raise awareness about the award in the hopes of gathering new information about the arson from the public. When asked about what evidence led his office to determine the cause of the fire was arson, Sandahl emphasized the need for discretion. “In order to protect the integrity of the investigation, we are not releasing specific details at this time,” said Sandahl. He urged members of the public to come forward with information they may have about the perpetrator of this crime by contacting the Idaho arson hotline at 1-(877)-75-ARSON.

Anyone offering information that helps lead to an arrest may be awarded up to $5,000. Funding for award comes from the Idaho Arson Award program, which is supported by the Northwest Insurance Council in cooperation with the Idaho State Fire Marshal’s Office and Idaho Department of Insurance.
